Victoria Canary Derby 2011!

Join the Sixth Annual Victoria Canary Derby and help the BC community fight back against cancer!

The Canary Derby challenges companies to build a competitive soap box car and raise funds for an undeniably great cause—cancer early detection. In 2010, the Fifth Annual Victoria Derby raised $85,500 with ten teams supporting the event. We need your support to raise funds for early cancer detection and make 2011 a record year.

Canary Project

The goal of the Canary Project is to develop new blood and imaging tests that will allow doctors to find cancers at the earliest possible stage, eliminating the suffering associated with advanced cancers. In particular, the Canary Project is focusing on cancers of the ovary, prostate, lung and pancreas. There is one simple fact about cancer that is often overlooked: most cancers can be cured using today’s treatments if tumors are detected at an early stage, before they start to spread throughout the body.
